| Using the plans and drawings in the ICBS archive Repairs It was also costly to repair old churches. The Society also gave money to help keep old churches in good condition. Here is a groundplan, with a section and elevation [06871.jpg] for St Stephen Llanstephan (Radnorshire). This church had its seating changed and other repairs carried out during 1868-1871. Were the new seats carved like the chancel screen? How does the height and width of the seat compare to your own chair? (you'll need a tape measure with feet and inches!)
Did anything remain the same inside St Mary Nun Monckton (Yorkshire) following the work funded by the ICBS? |
