Repairs

It was also costly to repair old churches. The Society also gave money to help keep old churches in good condition.

Here is a groundplan, with a section and elevation [06871.jpg] for St Stephen Llanstephan (Radnorshire). This church had its seating changed and other repairs carried out during 1868-1871. Were the new seats carved like the chancel screen? How does the height and width of the seat compare to your own chair? (you'll need a tape measure with feet and inches!)
